Check out this sweet card I made at Jeannie's yesterday morning. It's simple yet complex. I love the Medallion stamp, but I really love the flower we made. And the colors? Come on!
Speaking of flowers, I'm hoping some are starting to bloom at the Holistic Garden on campus. I'm just in love with all the colors and shapes. Maybe I can quit my day job and just be a nature photographer???

Beef With Red Wine Sauce
I've been on Spring Break almost all week. Woo-hoo! I've mostly been working around the house and running errands. I've also had time to play around with some new recipes. Here is one I tried tonight from Southern Living. It was pretty good! I tried taking a picture of it, but it didn't photograph very well.
I probably didn't use the most appropriate wine, but it's the one I had on hand and it's the one I like to drink. Yummy....all around!

I Pledge....
I can't tell you how many times I have talked on my phone while driving. I get bored and decided to call someone to chat for a couple of minutes. I have one thing I need to tell someone. It will just take a minute. I call to make dinner plans with friends. The traffic isn't bad. I'm careful. I'm aware. I don't text and drive. But, it just takes that one mistake to change your life forever. Kristin's blog changed my mind. Even knowing her story, I still thought the distraction of the phone was something I could deal with - like I said, I'm a good driver. Revisiting her story changed my mind. Please take some time to read her story and take the pledge. I want all of us to be around for a long time.

I'm Taken With Teal
One more post from Jeannie and Jennifer's stamp camps. Taken With Teal is such a vibrant color and the coordinating Sweet Pea paper is perfect! I think both of these cards are really fun. The first card is from Jeannie's camp and the second is from Jennifer's.
This weekend I'm going be helping my Mom sort all the family pictures so we can work on photo albums for my parents, my brother, me and my uncles. It should be fun, but a little bit intimidating. We have LOTS of years of pictures to organize!

Potato and Double-Corn Chowder
Yesterday I decided to try a new recipe in the ol' slow cooker. You will find that I love my slow cooker. It was good. Not great, but good. Next time, I think I'll add some shredded chicken. The best thing about the recipe, I love saying "chowder" (in my best Boston accent).
Potato and Double-Corn Chowder (from the Betty Crocker website)
1 bag (16 ounces) frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed (4 cups)
1 can (15.25 ounces) Green Giant® whole kernel corn, undrained
1 can (14.75 ounces) Green Giant® cream-style corn
1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1. In 3- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients.
2. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours (or High heat setting 3 to 4 hours) to develop flavors.

Happy Valentine's Day!
OK, I finally did it. I've start a blog (thank you Emily for the encouragement!). As the banner says, it will be a little bit of this and little bit of that to show off some of my handiwork. Since today is Valentine's Day, I thought I would start off with some cards I made at my friend Jeannie's stamp camp a couple of weekends ago. Enjoy!
